TUT Student Portal Login: Status Check & iEnabler Guide

TUT Student Portal Login Status Check & iEnabler Guide

The TUT student portal is the online platform students at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) use to manage essential academic activities. Whether you need to register for a new academic year, submit supporting documents, check your application or view examination results, the portal provides access to these services in one place.

TUT uses the ITS iEnabler Self Help system, which allows registered students to access their academic information using their student number and PIN. By visiting ienabler.tut.ac.za, you can sign in to your account and access the available student services without visiting the campus for every administrative task.

This guide covers how to log in to the TUT student portal, complete registration, upload documents, check your registration status, view your marks and resolve common login problems.

  1. Sign in with your student number and PIN.
  2. Open the registration section in the Self Help menu.
  3. Your registration status, registered modules and any outstanding requirements will appear on screen.

The same portal also shows your financial status and account balance, so you can confirm your registration fees have gone through. For more on the university itself, including fees and admission requirements, see our TUT institution page.

Viewing Your Academic Results

TUT posts predicate (assessment) marks on iEnabler Self Help. The TUT Student Portal also holds your subject history, exam information and graduation details.

To see your marks:

  1. Sign in to iEnabler Self Help with your student number and PIN.
  2. Open the results or academic record section from the menu.
  3. Choose the academic year and semester you want.

Where to Find Your Exam Timetable

When your predicate marks are published, your personal examination timetable becomes available at os.tut.ac.za/ExamsLegacy/. You can also ask for it at Student Services on your campus. The final examination timetable for the current semester is available as a PDF download on the TUT website.

Resetting a Forgotten or Locked Password

If you can’t remember your password, or your account has been locked, use the TUT4Life password reset page at tut4life.tut.ac.za/password/. You’ll need three things to hand:

  • Your student number
  • Your ID or passport number
  • Your ITS PIN number

Enter them in that order, then select Submit to reset your password.

The TUT Password Manager App

If you’d rather sort this out from your phone, TUT offers a Password Manager app for Android and iOS. It lets you:

  • See whether your account is locked
  • Set a new password
  • Confirm your identity by scanning a QR code

Search for “TUT Password Manager” in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download it.

Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Using myTUTor, TUT’s learning management system at mytutord2l.tut.ac.za? Then you’ll need to set up multi-factor authentication first. You can verify yourself with any of these:

  • The Microsoft Authenticator app
  • A text message (SMS) to your cellphone
  • A code sent to your personal email

MFA has to be repeated once every 24 hours to keep access to myTUTor. If you get stuck setting it up, contact myTUTor support at [email protected] or 0861 102-421 (Option 4).

FAQs

Use the ITS iEnabler application status page. You’ll need your South African ID number or, if you don’t have one, your full name, surname and date of birth. Your status and student number appear once you submit.

  • Check the page regularly, because your status can change without warning.
  • TUT sends updates to the email address and phone number on your application, so make sure both are correct and look in your spam folder.

TUT enrols more than 60,000 students across its campuses, so it’s one of the largest residential universities in South Africa. There isn’t one fixed first-year intake figure, because places in each programme depend on the university’s enrolment plan. For a sense of scale, one faculty alone, ICT, welcomed 1,560 new first-years in 2026. 2027 2027 General Information for First Year Enrolment TUT CONTACT CENTRE: +2

How do I send an email to TUT?

Pick the address that matches your question and write a clear subject line.

Put your full name, ID or student number and programme in the message so the team can find your record quickly. Note that TUT doesn’t accept applications sent by email or fax. Those must go through the online portal.

You can fix this yourself in a few minutes.

  • Open the TUT4Life password reset page and enter your student number, ID or passport number and ITS PIN, then submit.
  • Or use the TUT Password Manager app on Android or iOS to see whether your account is locked and set a new password.

If neither works, call the contact centre on +27 (0)86 110 2421.

It depends on how many applications are in the system and when you applied. Once your documents are uploaded, the status moves to “under consideration” and a review takes roughly 21 days. Even so, some applicants wait anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, and peak periods just after the closing date tend to be slower. Missing documents are the most common cause of delays, so check your email and SMS regularly.

The university will tell you in two ways: through its online status system and by email or SMS. For TUT, log in to the iEnabler application status page. A conditional acceptance isn’t final, so you’ll need to send your final results or any missing documents before the offer is confirmed. Never rely on a third-party site for this. Always check the official TUT systems.

Most likely not, because the 2027 application window opened on 1 April 2026 and closed on 30 September 2026, which was only a few days ago. Some programmes may still have places, and TUT has opened late applications in past years when space was available. Keep an eye on the official TUT website and social media pages for any late-application announcement.

How do I track my application status?

  1. Go to the iEnabler application status page.
  2. Enter your ID number, or your surname, full name and date of birth.
  3. Submit and read the status shown.

TUT also sends updates by email and SMS, so make sure the contact details on your application are correct.

Yes. First-time applicants pay a non-refundable R240 application fee. Pay it before you submit, and keep your proof of payment, because you’ll need to upload it with your application.

None for first-year entry. The 2026 late-application window closed in late January 2026, and the university has moved on to the 2027 cycle. If you still want to study at TUT, your realistic target is 2027 admission.

You can apply for more than one programme. TUT allows this, but each programme has its own entry requirements, so check that you qualify for each before you submit. Sending a second application for the same programme isn’t necessary. Check your status instead.

You don’t email it. Proof of payment is uploaded during the online application itself. Use these steps: tutstatuscheck

  • Pay the R240 fee into TUT’s official bank account, using the details on the application portal and your ID number as the reference.
  • Save a clear PDF or screenshot of the deposit slip or EFT receipt.
  • Upload it in the documents section before you submit.

If you’ve already submitted and forgot to upload it, contact the online applications team at [email protected] or on 0800 233 725.

Conclusion

The TUT iEnabler portal makes it easier for students to manage important tasks, including checking application and registration information, uploading documents, accessing academic results and resolving account issues. Keeping your student details and required documents ready can help you complete these processes without unnecessary delays.
